BBQ and Bingo

Got invited to a garden party and this time i thought, rain or shine I am going! I need this diversion. I have secluded myself for sometime now from parties because of work timings/schedules. This time by hook or by crook, I will find a way to be able to attend and enjoy it. I have to go early to work the following day, but I didn't care.

There were already visitors when we got to the place. Merry, the host was somewhere in the kitchen, buried with all the food preparations and last minute additions. Typical Merry party, always more than enough food ready, drinks, board and card games available, music and dancing! I have never been to any of her party that was not a success. She has also these crowd of Pinoy, mixed and pure that really blends very good together. I don't know how she does it. The Europeans who are there are celebrating like the Pinoys, eats Pinoy food and talks about Pinoy stuff as well. There were like two groups playing cards, another table for the mahjong group, some kids playing table tennis, some are running around all the time. The main and most boisterous group was the group of ladies playing Bingo. The number caller, a guy from Legaspi City was having the time of his life, always referring to the female body parts and traits each time he called a number. It was fun, in a way, but it always left me wondering why, for example "N44 would be the number of a woman without undies..."or why is the "O65 the number of a desperate woman"?

Those who prefer to talk about more international topics can just stay in one of the huts that Merry has prepared in case it would rain. But most of the time, they come out to look & see what was going on outside their world....haha! They simply cannot resist the Filipino fun and relaxed atmosphere. Of course, there was also some serious topics discussed every now and then....but somehow, somebody would always find a way to turn the topic into something funny, that the seriousness of it does not even effect an iota of the atmosphere...thanks to those "clowns" present, hehehe!

Though most of the guests still had work the following day, nobody could dare break the fun by leaving early. I for one had to go to work at 04:00 A.M. the following day, but what the heck! I could go to work without a wink's sleep. I am certainly not missing the fun this time!

Hi, Hannahlou,

you really should have been with us in earlier years, when we celebrated our ADI - Partys in the Recreation Area Party Hut at the Rhein - Main Air Base.I am pretty sure, you would have fitted in there like the screw driver to the nail.Nobody cared, whether he or she had to go to work early in the morning. From there, they just went to the breakroom.ADI - Springbreakparty, ADI - Summernightparty . . . just about every three months we gathered ourselves over there to party and dance all night long until early in the morning. What a pity, that, for some reason, we didn´t celebrate a party over there now already for a longer while. But who knows, maybe somewhen, we will continue that tradition! And if so, I strongly recommend you to show up over there, be assured, you will not regret it!

see you at work

nice greetings

Rüdiger

@elaine, hi...oo, nag enjoy...super! sana punta ka d2, sama ka sana para hindi ka nalulungkot jan waiting for your hubby, ;)! tc!

@bebe: ola!. ganoon nga yata sila. it was the second time i played Bingo with them here, i won 4Euro during the first 20 minutes of the game, tapos, hindi na naulit...hahaha! but the fun it gave me, that couldn't be bought...ang babaw ko, 'no?!

@thess ;) hello. well, ako nga wala. i mean, i used to play bingo at the SM Mall before, nung anjan pa ako sa Manila. With my friends, pero, they don't call naman the numbers like how that guy did it...He was really cool!

@hi Leah:) oo, ganun nga ang scenes the other day sa party na iyun. MAdalas may dance show talaga sila. mostly naman say, 2 folk dances at isang modern dance. Napanood ko na ang mga MA-dears dito na tipong between ages 50-65, nag sasayaw...hanep sa galing! Especiality ang Ballroom medley and some selected folk dances like Singkil and Pandanggo sa Ilaw...bow ako! ;)

@hi russ, you kow what, you'd be surprised at how these europeans are enjoying the Pinoy parties here...to the point that they even join the Pinoy organizations because of the camaraderie of the group, iba nga pati sa tsismisan join sila, LOL!!!

have a great week every one!

that sounds almost like the pinoy parties my parents used to attend here in singapore many years ago, with 4 children (in their pre-teens) in tow. tipong ang daming tao, may kantahan, may sayawan, at meron din mga nagma-mahjong or nagpu-pusoy, with a generous food spread enough to feed a whole barangay. haaayyy....nakaka-miss din ah. =)
